In January, I attended a national meeting in Miami called ISET. This was a week long course dealing with endovascular procedures such as the standard therapies of balloon angioplasty, stenting and thrombolysis (clot busting) as well as the more advanced techniques such as laser and mechanical atherectomy (removing plaque build-up inside of an artery) and other emerging technologies. These courses have helped me fine tune our procedures. What I mostly got out of the week was that we are right up to date with what we are doing to treat vascular disease.
My next meeting is another week long meeting, again in Miami, in March, dealing with veins.
