Well, this is the first newsletter for the new Website. I am pleased with how it is working out so far.
I am proud to announce that Debbie Hurst LPN is now a full time employee of Wilson Interventional Clinic. Debbie will be working closely with all of our patients to make sure that their experience goes smoothly.
I recently attended a conference in Little Rock, AR at The Arkansas Heart Hospital entitled Thought Leader Forum for the Treatment of Infrapopliteal Disease. This was a gathering of specialist that treat peripheral vascular disease in the legs. There were interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons and interventional cardiologists. We shared our experiences and insights for treating blockages in the arteries of the legs. There is some new technology that I think is going to be very useful. A new catheter, the Silverhawk Atherectomy catheter made by Foxhollow, that we now have at Baxter Regional Medical Center can actually remove some of the blockage, even in totally occluded vessels. This is going to really improve our ability to help people with poor blood flow to the feet.
Another new aspect to our practice is varicose vein treatment. See the discussion listed under "Procedures" on the website. This is an office procedure that uses a laser to treat varicose veins and the associated symptoms of pain and swelling in the legs.
I may add some more to this same newsletter next week, but that is all for now.
Matt Wilson MD.
