This will be a short update on what we have been doing in interventional radiology (IR) and what is soon to come. IR is a rapidly evolving field with new procedures being introduced each year which makes it difficult for you to know what is possible and which specific procedures I am currently performing.

For instance, we have been treating AAAs using the endovascular placement of stent-grafts. There have been no major complications and all patients have gone home in two days. A new procedure that is in the works is endovascular ablation of the greater saphenous vein to treat venous congestion (varicose veins, pain, venous ulcers). The newsletter will let you know when that is up and running, as well as feedback on how well it is working.
